Pensions/H.Kong.

Mr.H.Harman,

Colonial Office.

Mr.A.Gibson who is in receipt of a pension of £306.13.4d per annum fron Hong Kong funds in respect of his late appointment as Colonial Veterinary Surgeon has held employment under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries at a fee of £2.10/- a day from 1st February to the end of April 1922. He has therefore received salary amounting to £70 for February, £77.10/- for March, and £75 for April 1922. He states however that his services will probably not be required after the end of April 1922. Can you please say whether an abatement is necessary and if so, whether we are correct in assuming that the maximum rate he may draw by way of pension plus salary during the period of his public employment is £800 per annum.
