$107.80.

Voucher 20. Police Canteen. $200.75. (See para. 16).

Balance Sheet.

The deficit on the above accounts amounts to $14,786.01. This has been met by an advance of £15,000 made to me in December, 1919. The Canteen shortage of 1,686.18 has not yet been refunded.

The Accountant had an Imprest from Treasury annually of 812,000 supplemented in Harch 1919 by a further advance of 86,000 to meet increased payments by advance to Guards, Steamers and Shore. No further suns being traceable it is necessary to add these two advances to the deficiency

shown in paragraph 26 making the total 832,786.01. The

audit of the accounts is not yet complete, it is there- fore not possible to say whether this deficit is absolute-

ly correct.
