THE LEAGUE OF RED CROSS SOCIETIES,
Dear Sir,

The Department of Sanitation, General Medical Department of the League of Red Cross Societies, is planning to organise a Corps of Sanitary Correspondents in order that
it may keep in touch with the sanitary conditions in diffe-
rent parts of the world. We desire to get the names of two
or three men in your country, not more than half a dozen, who
would be willing to co-operate with us in this work, and it
has occurred to me that you might be able to help us by
suggesting the names of men whom you would consider suitably
qualified to undertake this work.
The duties of these correspondents will be to
fill out answers to a questionnaire which will be sent to
them, and to write to our Headquarters at Geneva about twice
a year, giving us general information and items of new regard.
ing public health matters, suitable for publication in the
journal of our medical department. In return they will
receive the publications of the League of Red Cross Societies,
but there will be no monetary compensation.
As to the type of man best suited for these
appointments we prefer sanitary engineers, or physicians who have been engaged in public health work and who are therefore familiar with water supplies, sewage disposal, drainage, as
well as various public health matters.
