On the let proximo per 8.5."Polynesien" Sidney Livesey of Hongkong is being sent to your Colony. His history
is as follows:- Age 29; Born, Hongkong; Father, English; Mother,
Eurasian; Lived, Hongkong 17 years, Macao 5 years, Shanghai 7
years. The first six years of his residence here he was looked
after by his brother who, however, went on active service last
year, since that time he has been the object of charitable sup- port and is being sent to Hongkong by the same means.
His condition renders it impossible to find employ-
ment at this port or even permit his permanent inclusion in the Casual Ward. He is congenitally weak-minded, feeble physically and in control, but at the same time not sufficiently wanting in
intelligence to be certified as insane.
As he is a native of Hongkong and his further support here is most undesirable I have the honour to request that steps
may be taken to prevent his return to this port.
