Mr. Hamer is reported to be a most capable and conscientious officer, eminently qualified for the post suggested and I should be glad, therefore, if you would approve his appointment as Surveyor of Buildings on the same salary as he formerly had as Supervisor and Accountant, namely £360 rising to £450 by £30 triennially subject to such increase as is granted to similar posts under the revised scheme of salaries.
