I have received your letter
of the 15th of March submitting the
name of Commander Beckwith, Assistant
Harbour Master, for an 0.B.E.
The British Empire Order
is practically closed down as a
reward for war services, and as the
conditions for future appointments
have not yet been decided I am
afraid that it is not possible at
present to consider Beckwith's claim
in that respect.
As regards Taylour, I see
from your telegram of the 10th of
April that since your letter was
written, the Executive Council have
at last determined to pension him
off
