With reference to the Colonial Office letter No.14119/1920,
of the 23rd March 1920, may we please be instructed as to whether
we are to issue full salary to Mr.F.Appleton, Police Sergt.No. 106 Hong Kong for the period of his half salary leave which
commences on the 11th March 1900.
to substitute full
We presume that it is the intention pay leave in all cases in which half-pay leave has been granted to a Hong Kong policeman, whether he was on leave on the 1st
January 1920, or not?.
A case in point is that of Mr.P.Grant Police Sergt.who arrived on leave on the 21st March 1920, and has been granted 6 months full pay leave from the 7th February and 3 months half pay leave from the 7th August. Are we correct in assuming that the 3 months leave from the 7th August will, converted
into full pay,leave ?.
