REL=

MAR_0;

GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONGKONG. 29th January, 1920.

Enclosure !

My Lord,

-

I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that I bave recently received an application from the Lessees of Rural Building Lots Nos. 90 and 105 and Garden Lot No. 12 the Standard Oil Company of New York requesting the Govern- -ment to convert Garden Lot No. 12 into a Rural Building Lot and incorporate it as part of, and together with, the area shown edged red on accompanying plan No. 1 as an extension of the above-mentioned Rural Building Lots.

2.

Among other reasons advanced by the Lessees for the granting of their request is that the proximity of a high cutting in the rear formed in levelling the site, renders

the house very damp, and that, with certain extensive additions

recently carried out to the Manager's residence situated

thereon, the site has become somewhat inadequate.

Ponclosure 2.

3.

Plan No. 2 attached herewith shows in detail the boundaries of the existing Rural Building Lots,

which are held on the following tenures:-

R.B.L. 90

R.B.L. 105

75 years from 5th September, 1898.

75 years, renewable for mother 75 years, from the 30th July, 1900.

The extraordinary shape of R.B.L. 105 is

due to the limitation of the total area thereof by the in-

-clusion of only such areas as were either suitable for a law

or which were occupied by the slopes of the cutting resulting

from the formation of R.B.L. 90.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

VISCOUNT MILNER, G.C.B.,
