N° 21
THE
10746
RECLB 20
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG. 22nd January, 1920.
60
My Lord,
With reference to Your Lordship's Circular
Despatch of the 25th October, 1919, on the subject of the
repatriation of ex-Army Officers and men, I have the honour to
forward a copy of a letter received from Mr.T.W.Ainsworth, a
Passed Cadet in this Service, who was formerly a Lieutenant
in the 53rd Company of the Chinese Labour Corps.
2.
Though Mr. Ainsworth's application does
not strictly come within the purview of the above mentioned
Despatch, I bave forwarded his application, for Your Lord-
-ship's consideration as it would appear that the journey
arranged by the Repatriation Authorities was unduly delayed by action of the Government in commandeering the S. S. "Monteagle*.
3.
Mr. Ainsworth applied to the Repatriation
Authorities at Winchester in a letter dated the 30th June,
1919, for a detention allowance but has so far received no
reply.
I have the honour to be, My Lord, Your Lordship's most obedient, hable servant,
B.E. Stutts
Governor,&c..
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
VISCOUNT MILNER, G.C.B.,
