have covered a period of unparalleled financial activity; many Companies have been floated for dealing with already developed concerns, and the pressure in financial houses
has been so great as to leave little time for the consideration
of new development schemes. It will, therefore, be readily appreciated that 2nd October to 31st December was altogether
too short a time to arrange for the formation of a new
development company, requiring a capital of a quarter of
a million sterling, for a technical scheme situated so far
distant as Hong Kong.
I have, therefore, to request that you will be so
good as to give the Promoters the very reasonable time of
six months from 2nd October in which to pay the deposit, and
in furtherance of this request, beg to remind you that had
the Hong Kong Government not objected to our proceeding
immediately after the Armistice as arranged, the present delay
in forming the Company would not have occuzzed,
I have the honour to be,
Youz obedient Servant,
E.T. Williams.
