one my folisement from the English Service, accepted a seat on the drain Guls Committee, which has been proscenting Enquirie in this country, and is now about to return to India.

The Government of India proposes to matur a supplement to me for this work - which is of a purely temporary character.

I presume that acceptance of this offer will not bar one from drawing, forthwith, the pension earned by me as Colonial Treasurer of Hong Kong, to which I became entitled on retiring from Government Service at the age of sixty.

I may add that, in reply to a similar question addressed by me to the Paymaster General, with regard to some Office pension, I have been informed that the receipt by me of remuneration from the Government of India as a member of the Indian Jails Committee will
