I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of
His Majesty's Treasury to transmit herewith, to be
laid before the Secretary of State, a copy of a letter
dated the 21st. instant, which They have received from the Portmaster General regarding the proposed transfer of Mr. J.H. Cooper, Sorting Clerk and Telegraphist,
Bridgnorth, to the post of Superintendent of the
Registration and Parcel Branch, General Post Office, Hong Kong
My Lords understand that Mr. Cooper's service
from 14th August, 1916 to 31st. December, 1916, will be
pensionable from Hong Kong Funde in the event of hir
re-appointment and in these circumstances They would
be glad to be informed whether Viscount Milner concure
in the application of No.9. of the Rules of 1911 to
Mr. Cooper's case upon his final retirement under
conditions qualifying him for pension.
