If you are prepared to accept the appointment
on these comitions, you should take an early opportuni
of presenting yourself to one of the Fedical Advisers whose names are given on the enclosed letter, for the purpose of being medically examined, and he will send his report direct to this Department. The fee will be paid by the Crown Agents for the colonies, and if it should be necessary for you to travel by rail for the purpose of the examination, your 3rd class return lare will be refunded to you on your informing this Lepart- ment of the amount.
6. If finally selected for the appointment, you will be provided with a free passage to Hongong, 1st

class by other then a mail steamer, subject to an under takin; to repay its cost in the event of your leaving the service of the Goverment within four years from th date of your arrival in the colony for any other reason than mental o physical infirmity. You will be re- quired to enter into an agreement to this effect with the crown Agents for the colonies and yo find one surety for its due performance, In the alternativo, if you prefer not to provide a surety, a cecuction of 15% will be mue from your salary for the first three years in consideration of the cost of your passage. The amount so deducted will be paid over to you on the satisfactory completion of four years' service. If you accept the appointment you should state which of these alternatives you would prefer to accept.
