In reply to your telegram 4th February there is some bat urgent need of new governor in Hong Kong owing to absence since September of Way but if Stubbe is badly in need of rest and change and wishes to bring rs. Stubbs home he can be allowed to take three months leave at once on full salary from Ceylon embarking on termination thereof for Hong Kong and drawing from then half salary from Hong Kong. If he prefers to do so he can proceed direct to Hong Kong in karch but this must involve a very considerable postponement of home leave.
