1. I am directed by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to advert to the Colonial Office letter of 15th November (No. 53213/1918) and to previous correspondence on the subject of the appointment of a Jommercial Attaché for
South China.
2. The designation Commercial Attaché has now been abandon- ed, and the various grades in the Commercial ittaché Service
have been renamed as follows:-
Commercial Attaché 1st grade becomes Commercial Counsellor of
"mbassy or Legation.

Jommercial Attachend grade becomes Comercial Secretary
Embassy or Legation, 1st grade.

Comercial Attaché Srd grade becomes Commercial Secretary of Embassy or Legation, and grade.

The Assistant Commercial Attaché for South China is now styled Commercial Secretary of Legation (nd grade) for South China.
The emoluments of the post rem in as stated in the letter of
4th November is from this Department.
