BOARD OF TRADE.

Rr. 13.29 dubber 1919.

With reference to your letter of 7th October

(55140/1919) and the enclosures, I am directed by the

Board of Trade to state for the information of Fiscount

Milner that no cases exactly similar to those of the

Portuguese employees of German firm in Hong Kong, have

arisen in connection with the enemy businesses In

respect of which winding-up orders bære bem nađe in

this country. In certain cases, howevar, the

employees have lodged claims with the Controllers

under agreements for service betwem them and the

enemy firms or companies, and in those cases it las

been the practice of the Board of Trade to instruct

the Controller to obtain the authority of the Count

before any payment has been made in respect of such

claims
