With reference to your letter No. R. & S/W.T.7626, dated the 4th January 1919, I m directed to forward a copy of a letter from the Government of Bengal, No. 1641-Com, dated the 11th April 1919, reporting that it is not possible, at present, to state precisely the amount of available assets of the Calcutta branch of the
Deutsch Asiatische Bank.

I am however, to add that the local Government have been asked
to supply the necessary infomation as soon as possible.
