October 1915 and continued in his said employment as such
Manager as aforesaid until the month of June 1916 when he
left his said employment and set up in business in Shanghai
on his own account and your Petitioner now carries on busin-
ess in his own name and without partners at No.7 Nanking Road
Shanghai aforesaid as a Merchant and Commission Agent.
3. That your Petitioner was born on the 31st day of March
1877 at Bagdad in Turkey-in-Asia and resided there with his
parents until he was 16 years of age when he left Bagdad for
Bombay in the Empire of India where he went to School at
Bishops High School, Poona, in India, until the year 1895.
4. That your Petitioner in the month of February 1898 joined
in India the Mercantile Firm of Messrs. David Sassoon and
Company Limited as a clerk and remained with that Firm in
India until the month of April 1898 when he was sent by that
Firm to Hongkong as a clerk in their said employment and that
your Petitioner lived in Hongkong and continued in such em-
ployment from the said month of April 1898 down to the year
1915 when he left Hongkong for Shanghai as aforesaid.
5. That your Petitioner's residence in Hongkong was continu-
ous excepting for a few periods of time hereinafter particu-
larly stated when he was away from Hongkong on short business
or pleasure visits to Shanghai, Singapore, Japan, the United
States of America and England.
