That on the 22nd August 1912 your Petitioner became a

naturalized British Subject by virtue of a Grant from His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong (Sir Henry May) of a Certificate of Naturalization which was granted to him under the Naturalization of Aliens Ordinance of Hongkong No.44 of

1902.

2. That your Petitioner was then in the employment in

Hongkong of the Firm of Messrs. David Sassoon and Company Limited as Co-Manager of that Firm in Hongkong and continued

as such until the month of October 1915 when your Petitioner

was appointed Manager in Shanghai of that Firm your Peti-

tioner accordingly proceeded to Shanghai in the month of
