Further to this Chamber's letter of the 14th; ultimo, I have again the honour to address you with refer ence to the false declaration on a manifest ofthe Osaka Whosen Kaisha of 9 cases said to contain gas pipes and shafts, whereas the contents were proved to be Hotch- kiss guns and stands,

My Committee after further consideration ofthis serious matter, is of opinion tha. the circumstances are of sufficient Imperial interest to warrant His Exell- ency the Officer Administering theGovernment placing the matter before the Becretary of State for Foreign Affairs with a viewĵo representations being made in Psking and7okyo.

My Committee will be glad to learn that His Excellency views the seriousness of this flagrant case of gun-running in the same light as this Chamber, and that action has been taken in the manner indicated.
