With reference to your letter No. L. 3/97 dated the 14th
instant addressed to the Collector of Customs regarding 25
chests Persian Opiun, I have the honour to say that there is
no objection to Persian Opium bn whole or half chests being
imported which is manifested for transhipaen t. Such opium shoulc
so far as accommodation is available be brought to the Custom
house for the safety of revenue it being understood that this
office is not responsible for any loss while there. If there
is no room in the King's warehouse you will be responsible for
keeping the opium in proper custody. The rent for deposi ting
in the King's warehouse pending transhipment is annas four and
two for each chest and half chest respectively per week.
