to fill a similar vacancy under regn. 8505 (authorised?
in your letter of the 12th February 1919, NO 4929/1919)
although we have up to the present advertised on eight
occasions, the last advertisement being immerted abou t
the 4th of December. All the advertisements since the
end of July have published the terme now authorised
by Hong Kong, i.e. £200 to £230 plus war bonus of 20%.
3. In these circumstances I have to suggest that
before authorising us to proceed with the engagement of
a candidate for the second vacancy the salary of thás
post also that authorised in your letter of the 12th
February be raised to £240 rising to £270 per annum plus
war bonus.
