With reference to your letter No.39540/19 of 24th July respecting Fr.G.Edwards of the Hong Kong Police Force, we have the honour to inform you that another passage was booked for Mr.Edwards in the s.s."Thongwa" which sailed on the 19 th August.
Mr. Edwards however failed to embark and the letter enclosing his passage ticket etc., has been returned to us marked "gone away" while a telegram we sent to him has remained unanswered.
We shall be glad to receive the Secretary of State's further instructions in the matter.
