LONDON, B.W. 1.

1st MAR 191919.

With reference to your letter o 28365/1917 of the 16th June 1917, I have the honour to state that Kr.F.T.James, Constable in the Hong Kong Police Force, in a letter received by us from him on the 18th February declined re-engagement for further service, as the Colonial Government is not providing a passage or quarters for his wife.

In these circumstances, I have

to enquire from what date the termination of his appointment should take effect, and

hether his Colonial allowance should dease as from that date or be continued until his release from military service.

His appointment was reported to you

in our letter of the 31st December 1913.

I have the honour to be, Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

for Crown Agents.

e Under Secretary of State.
