I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of
your letter No. 1938/1919 of the 22nd. May regarding the advance of £38 which was made in this Colony to the Reverend
C. E. Swinnerton.
It will be seen from the first enclosure in my letter of the 24th April that the money was paid because Mr. Swinnerton produced a telegram from General Ridout to the effect that he could help to the extent of £38; and
I am to request accordingly that your Government will be so good as to ask General Ridout personally to pay the money in accordance with his undertaking in the telegram.
In the meantime it ie not proposed to credit your Government with the sum of $228.31 in the next quarter-
ly account.
I am, &C.,
(sd.) A. G. M. Fletcher
Colonial Secretary.
