At the present time Mr. Wolfe, who holds the permanent appointment of First Police Magistrate in Class 1,

draws acting pay as Captain Superintendent of Police,

and

officers in Class II and Class III respectively receive

acting pay as First and Second Magistrate. I have to

recommend that, while the permanent Police appointment is

in abeyance, Mr. Wolfe should draw pay as if he held the

post, and the senior officers in Class II and Class III and

the senior Cadet should draw pay as officers in Class I,

Class II, and Class III respectively.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

B.2. Stutts

Governor, &c..
