Station. We have been here together over two months during which time I have always found him in the best of spirits. He had two days leave on the 26th and 27th of last month (September). He went to Au Tau Station New Territory to spend his leave with P.S. A.14 J. Ogg who is stationed there. He returned on the 28th and told me that he was not feeling well stating that he thought he had got a touch of the sun. He went into Hospital a few days later. On the 21st instant about 5 p.m. I was lying on my bed when I was inform- -ed by A.L.S. A.122 Dorrington that Robertson was lying in the European latrine in a porl of blood. I rush over to see what had happened. Inspector Macdonald was then there. He told me to get myself ready to take him to Hospital which I did with all possible baste. The following morning I identified his body at the Govern- -ment Civil Hospital Mortuary in the presence of Dr. McKenney. I cannot give any reason why he should have committed this rash act.
P.S. A. 14, John Ogg states:- I am Sergeant in charge of Au Tau Police Station,liew Territories. At about 4 p.m. on the 26th ultimo a motor-car driver came and informed me that two Europeans were in his car and wanted to see me. I went down the footpath to the car. There I saw A.L.S.A.78 J. MacLennan and the late A.L.S.A.47 R.G.Robertson. They informed me that they were on 48 hours leave and had motored from Kowloon. I noticed that Robertson had his topee off. I told him that he should put it on. He said that the sun was not strong. I jumped into the car and had a run as far as Castle Peak with them. Robertson insisted on keeping his topee off saying that be was enjoying the breeze. When we got to Castle Peak I ordered the driver to put the hood up. We arrived back at Au Tau Station about 5 p.m. We had dinner and Robertson went straight to bed saying that he did not feel too well, that he had a slight headache. The following morning he got up about
8 a.m.
and had very little breakfast. He then went back to bed again, he slept all day. They both left on Sunday morning the 28th ultimo by moter car to catch the first train to Kowloon. In my
