I certify that the WILLIAM NICHOLSON who made
and signed the Declaration marked with the letter "A" is Mr. William Nicholson, Assistant with Messrs. Butterfield and
Swire, Merchants, and a Justice of the Peace for the Colony
of Hongkong: the EDWARD JOHN CHAPMAN who made and signed the
Declaration marked with the letter "B" is Mr. Edward John
Chapman a partner in the firm of Messrs. Linstead and Davis, Estate Agents and Accountants, and a Justice of the Peace
for the Colony of Hongkong.
Mrs. Ada Charlotte Sachse is an old resident
of the Colony and from the statements in the declarations
referred to above, made by well-known and respected residents
of the Colony who are fit and proper persons to make such
declarations, I am satisfied as to her character and re-
-commend that this Certificate should be granted.
