marriage with Your Petitioner a Subject of Great Britain being duly registered as auch at K. B. M's Consulate General at Shanghai where she was then residing.
That Your Petitioner's father was named John Harwood Green and that Your Petitioner's mother was named Mary Green who was than a subject of the Emperor of China,
Green That the said John Harwood/was born at Shrapstone, Northampton, England, on the 21st January 1826.
That Your Petitioner has no record of his father's movements until he joined the Imperial Chinese Customs' Service on the 1st April 1874 at Foochow China and later he was employed in the same service at Amoy and Swatow and he resided in Swatow until the date of his death which
took place on the 3rd August 1881.
That Your Petitioner's mother the said Mary Green was a Native of China and latterly resided in Shanghai where she died on the 26th January 1912.
That Your Petitioner desires and humbly prays that the Certificate of Naturalization may extend to his son Douglas Samuel Green who was born at Shanghai of his said wife Elizabeth Green on the 21st August 1904 and who is now of the age of 15 years and is now residing with Your Petitioner and his said wife at No.15 Hankow Road Kowloon
aforesaid.
That Your Petitioner's father's Nationality by Birth is English and his mother's Chinese and that Your Peti- tioner's Nationality by birth is Chinese.
Your Petitioner therefore humbly prays that Your Excellency will take the above facts into
consideration and will be graciously pleased to grant to him and tọ his said son Douglas
