The full preliminary Training was carried out before the Range practices

ware started,

1. Owing to the Armistice the Annual Camp was abandoned and instead Field

Firing Practices and Battalion Field wiring was carried out in the

hew Territory,

2. After 7th February, 1919 men over 46 years of age were excused all drilla

and men over 41 were only required to do liusketry.

3. Lectures have again been given.

An examination for promotion was held in December with the following

results: -

Number of Officers who presented themselves, seven, of whom four passed,

Number of Non-Commissioned Officers who presented themselves, three, of

whom one passed.

4. Mobilisation.

The Defence Corps furnished the Guards on the New and Old Magazines

and Wellington Barracks on the following dates to relieve men of the

garrison: -

From 6. 9. 18 to 18. 10. 18.

15. The strength of the Cadet Company is 38.

A weak and Cump was held during the summer months, about 25 boys attendin

attending such week end. The Company went to Camp at Lowu which was

most succesful. I inspected it once.

4. The rsport of the Kadical Officer is attached herewith.

7. This being my last report I would like to put on record the very

valuable work done by ay Adjutant, Captain G. E. Stewart, who has devoted

all his spare time to Military Duties. His services have been invaluable

Lieutenant & Quartermaster W. Higby has again done his work to my entire

satisfaction and I wish to put on record my appreciation of his services I could not possibly have had a more loyal or hard working lot of

Officers and the high state of efficiency is very largely due to their

offorts.
