SCHOOLS FOR ENGLISH CHILDREN
KOWLOON, VICTORIA AND PEAK SCHOOLS.
A suggestion has been made that the older
boys from these achorls should be sent out of
the Colony for education. If this were done the
two headmasterships of the Kowloon British School
and Victoria British School could be abolished.
Nothing, however is settled as to this,
It may now be considered certain that it is
not worth while training Student Teachers. They do not stay with us long enough to make worth the time and labour spent on them. The two Passed
Student Teachers on the Peak School Estimtes are
still maintained, but the two Passed Student
Teachers and the two Student Teachers at Kowlo m
School are a truck off, as three of them have left
and the last will shortly be leaving. It remaine therefore to complete the Staff with English
Mistresses.
These schools could be staffed much more
efficiently if they were amalgamated; but no
