19553/12.

My Lord,

With reference to my despatch No. 221 of

the 31st. May, 1912, and previous correspondence, I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that I have for some time had under consideration the repatriation of several mental patients who have been in the Asylum attached to the Government Civil Hospital in this Colony, but owing to the difficulty in obtaining accommodation in steamers it has been impossible to arrange for their passage to England

hitherto.

The Agents of the S. S. "Neuralia", which leaves Hongkong on or about the 28th of this month have however consented to provide accommodation for them on condition that arrangements are made for their reception on arrival of the ship in England and I shall be glad if the proper authorities at the port at which the S. s. "Neuralia" will first call on reaching England may be instructed to take charge of these patients and make such arrangements as may be necessary for their reception into some institution in England.

The following are the names of the patients>

Mrs. Eastman

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

VISCOUNT MILNER, G.C.B.,
