Wool. So far the only imports of Wool (raw) into this
Colony have been re-exported to the United Kingdom. A
portion of these re-exports was camels' wool. Is this
included under "Wool" ?
(w) Oleaginous nuts, seeds & Products.
The telegram of 11th.
July, 1917, satisfies most of the needs of the trade in these but special permission is required for the tranship- -ment of a certain amount of Copra imported from Singapore and destined for Japan. The recommendations in par. 3
apply to this case.
(x) Jute. It is understood that manufactures of jute, (gunny
bags, gunny cloth, hessian cloth) are not included under
this head and that the guarantee-system has been abolished
for these goods i.e. they may be re-exported freely to
any satisfactory consignees in countries not prohibited
under Class Č.
(y) Hemp
The telegram of 11. 7. 17 under "vegetable fibres"
gives the required freedom for mostof the ordinary trade,
but there is a steady demand from Italy for hemp from
Manila via Hongkong and enquiries are now being made for France.
