My Lord,

I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that throughout the year 1918 Dr. C. W. McKenny performed extra work, which increased in amount on the departure of Dr. Woodman on the 18th May, and became very heavy at the end of the year owing to the illness of the Principal Civil

Medical Officer.

He has been Acting Superintendent of the Government Civil Hospital since the 1st. September, 1917, and at the same time has performed in addition for periods

during the year 1918 the duties of Medical Officer, Victoria

Gaol. He was Medical Officer in charge of Kennedy Town

Hospital for the whole year which involved treatment of

several non-Chinese cases of Cerebro-spinal-meningitis and

some Chinese cases of the same disease, and all non-Chinese cases of small-pex. He was also visiting Medical Officer of the Tung Wah Hospital during the whole year, and for periods was Medical Officer in charge of Government Subordinates, and Medical Officer in charge of schools.

From the 14th December he was in addition in charge of the

Victoria Hospital for women on the Peak and acted as Principal Civil Medical Officer.

I cannot speak too highly of the manner in which Dr. McKenny has performed these multifarious duties, which involved during the last six months of the year
