Adverting to Treasury 18.ter 36118/17 of the
29th November last, respecting the relief of the pay of laval, Military and Civilian Officers and men on the China Station. from the adverse effects of the rising dollar exchange, I an directed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's reasury to state that They are now informed by the Colonial Office that under a standing arrangement sterling sal.ries payable to officers of the Government of Wei-hai-wei are paid in currency at the rate of 2/- to the dollar when the dollar exceeds that
value.
The ir Lordships accordingly sanction the extension of the arrangements sanctioned by the Treasury Letter under reference to personnel stationed in ei-hai-wei.
