would only be valuable if Messrs. Dunlops agreed to
continue the supply of goods to the purchaser.

In these circumstances, it would seem that the
valuation of their part of the goodwill would, if
taken on a proper basis, amunt to merely a nominal sum.
With regard to paragraph 2 of your letter, I am
to say that it is not clear to the Board precisely what
is meant by the suggestion that the renewal of the
registration of the marks should be cancelled. 'If it is
proposed that the marks should be cancelled, this would
of course not be permissible under the circumstances.
If, however, the question is one of the payment of renewa fees, this would appear to be a matter for the liquidate (if any) of Messrs. Meyerink's business, who, if he is of opinion that the goodwill of these particular marks is of no importante, might refuse to pay the renewal fees,
Apart from this question, the proper course would ap to be to value the goodwill connected with the marks with view to its sale to Messrs. Dunlop, and I am to suggest, for Mr. Secretary Long's consideration, that Mesars. Dunk should be informed that they are only invited to purchase goodwill connected with the joint marks, the value of whi would not appear to be considerable under all the circuma
