LONDON, S.W.1.

3rd August, 1918.

With reference to your letter of the 22nd July

No.34409/1918 and previous correspondence on the subject of

the trade marks registered in Hong Kong in the joint names

of Messrs. W. & C. Dunlop and Messrs. Meyerink & Company,

I am directed by the Board of Trade to say that, in their

view, it is only necessary that Messrs. Dunlop should acquire

that portion of the goodwill of Messrs. Meyerink's business

which is connected with the joint marks in question, not the

entire goodwill of the piese goods Department, which would

appear to include other piece goods business than that

connected with the marks in question.

business connected with the joint marks would appear to be

practically negligible, as it depends on the continued co-

operation of Mesare. Dunlops, which has of course been with-

drawn. If that goodwill were sold in the open market it
