With reference to your letter of the 22nd July
No.34409/1918 and previous correspondence on the subject of
the trade marks registered in Hong Kong in the joint names
of Messrs. W. & C. Dunlop and Messrs. Meyerink & Company,
I am directed by the Board of Trade to say that, in their
view, it is only necessary that Messrs. Dunlop should acquire
that portion of the goodwill of Messrs. Meyerink's business
which is connected with the joint marks in question, not the
entire goodwill of the piese goods Department, which would
appear to include other piece goods business than that
connected with the marks in question.
The value of the goodwill of Messrs. Meyerink's
business connected with the joint marks would appear to be
practically negligible, as it depends on the continued co-
operation of Mesare. Dunlops, which has of course been with-
drawn. If that goodwill were sold in the open market it
