Referring to the enclosed copy of your invoice of the 28th of July 1914 for 30 Bales Copra Sacks marked H R W we beg
Liaron to request that you kindly issue a document, certified by the Authorities of your place and stating that the amount of this invoice of £167-0-5 has been paid to you before the outbreak of the present war.
These 30 bales are still stored at Hong Kong and since a long time we have tried to get the delivered and sent to Sydney we are now informed, that there would be no more objection to their delivery, if we should prove that the amount of the invoice has been paid before the outbreak of the war.
Kindly send the document to Messrs. Gibb Livingston and Company Hong Kong who are dealing with the matter on behalf of our Agents, Messrs. Burns Philip and Company Limited, Sydney.
In the event of the amount in question not yet being settled we would request that you kindly infom Lesers. Gibb Livingston and Company, Hong Kong that the 30 Bales would le at our disposalgainst the payment of £167-0-5 and all charges occurred in Hong Kong for the 30 bales would be to our debit.

With reference to your letter of the 21st February relative to 30 bales of copra sacks forwarded to Hong Kong before the war by Messrs. F. Rosenstern and Company of Dundee, I en directed by the Board of Trade to requeet that you will be good enough to fur ish than with further information regarding the transaction, in particular, as to whether the property in the goods is still considered to be in Messrs. Rosenstern and Company, in what country the Head Office of the Hamburgische Sudsee A.G. is situated, and what was intended to be the ultimate destination of the goods. On receipt of this information the ratter will be further considered.
