HANSON, MCNEILL, JONES & WRIGHT,

24 Yuen Ming Yuen Road, SHANGHAI.

26th January, 1918,

sir,

In reply to your letter of yesterday's date regarding Messrs.J.A.Wattie & Company Limited I have to inform you that the Board of Directors of this Company has now been reconstituted, the present members being Messrs.J.A. Wattie, W.B.Clayton of London, Messrs.W.S.Davidson, J.C.Dyer and A.J.Welch, of Shanghai. The majority of the Board being resident in China the Company recognises that it is in a position to comply with Section 8 (1) of the China (Companies) Order in Council 1915 and accordingly has given notice to the Registrar at Hongkong of it's desire to be transferred from the Hongkong to the Shanghai Register.. On the 31st December the Registrar notified the Company that such transfer had taken place and I am instructed that on the 14th January the Company paid it's annual licence fee for 1918 to His Majesty's Consulate General and that it has since this date addressed several communications to the Registrar of Companies at Shanghai. I trust that I have supplied you with the information you require.

I am, etc.,

(Signed) Duncan McNeill.

Acting Crown Advocate.
