With reference to your letter I & 3./.T. 2503/18 of the 9th. instant, i aw directed by Lord Robert Cecil to transmit to you a copy of a telegran to is Majesty's Ambassador at Washington relative to the question of the requisitioned vessels belonging to Dutch Companies participating in the shipping agreement with the Indian Government. A copy of the memorandum to the Netherlands Kinister, referred to in the telegram, is also enclosed in full.

It will be seen that it is hoped to arrange a compromise under which no further claim will be raised by the Netherlands Government that the vessels in question should be released from requisition.
