With reference to your letter lo.20.692/1918 of the 3rd. instant, relative to the requisitioning of Dutch vessels trading with Hong Kong, I am directed by Lord Robert Cecil to transit hererith for ir. Secretary Long's information copies of a letter and of the enclosures thereto whica have been addressed to the india Office on the general question of the requisitioned vessels belonging to Dutch Companies participating in a local snipping agreement entered luto by the Government of India in January last.
At will be observed that it is moped to arrange a compromise with the Netherlands Government, under which the normal Dutch East Indian trade may be
resumed and maintained.
