ith reference to your communication of the 24th ultimo, c.a No.45051, enclosing copies of correspondence between the Tank Storage and Carriage Company, Limited, and the Crown Agents on the subject of the cost of victualling defensive armament Guns' Crews on vessels registered at Hong Kong belonging to the Standard Transportation Company, I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you for the information of the Secretary of State that the Admiralty only admit liability for the cost of victualling Guns' Crews on vessels registered in the Colonies
whilst they are under requisition by the British Government. The question of liability for victualling the Juns' Crews of such vessels when not on requisition formed the subject inter alia of Admiralty letter of the 15th June 1918, Ho.C.Sec.3.11535/18.
