I have the honour to submit for your
covering approval the following cases in which I have approved of extensions without auction to certain lots of land held
under lease.

The first case is that of a piece of land
at Taipo, which was leased to Mr. Baker without auction under the approval conveyed in Mr. Bonar Law's Despatch Confidential of the 17th. March, 1916. The extension is show in red on the mclosed plan. The land is low lying and it would not be practicable to build a house on it, while the possession of it by the lessee of the original lot will enable him to keep the whole property in good order. The terms are the same as for the original lot with a condition that only one house shall be
built on the whole lot as extended.

The second case is a small extension of
Kowloon Inland Lot No. 971 amounting to 54 square feet sa show in red on the enclosed plan, at a premium of 40 centa a square foot, the area to be included in the original lot and one lease issued for the combined areas.

The third case is m extension of Rural
Building Lot No. 54 on the Peak, as shown in red on the
