Sir,
In reply to your letter of the 14th. instant I
beg leave to inform you that Mr. Lau Chu Pak, Mr. Holyoak, Mr. Ho Fook and myself are still prepared to endorse His Excellency the Governor's proposals, notwithstanding the increase in amount required to carry out the proposals by including certain low-paid Civil Servants.
Mr. Londale has minuted as follows:- "I would
like to see the rates of pay before ngresing to the extension
of the bonus", and Mr. Shellim has minuted:- "I agree with
Mr. Landale". Under these circumstances I should be very
much obliged if you would kindly circulate the rates of pay
to these latter two gentlemen for their information and
further opinion on the matter.
