Referring to your Confidential Despatch
46046, of the 26th. September last regarding the post of First Board-
7. -ing Officer, I have the honour to state that Mr. M. McIver, who has now reached the age of 55 years, wishes to retire on pension at the end of the war.

As Mr. Daily will not in the meantime have returned to the Colony, I have to recommend that Mr. McIver's pension may be reckoned upon the salary which he is, at date of retirement, drawing as Acting First Boarding Officer. The
£400 by anmal increments of £10,

salary is at the rate £300
and Mr. McIver is now drawing £310.
