The samples consist of approximately 3 parte
Hydraulic Lime and 1 part of asbestos by weight,
Portions of each sample were extracted with
Hydrochloric Acid and the undissolved portion examined.
The sample of English manufacture gave a dark
grey residue of very short fibre and considerable quantity of
grit it was felted to a very small extent.
The sample of German manufacture gave a residue
