can easily be broken by standing on it before full the weight is applied and many pieces can be broken by hand.
Under these circumstances I have condemned the material as being useless and I think you will agree
me as to this being the only course open.
We are now faced with the proposition of find-
-ing a substitute and I think that the best thing to do will be to construct a reinforced concrete slab roof since it will take a considerable time to get a supply of genuine "Lammit" and if you agree I will have drawings prepared and tenders called for. I hope that it may be possible to obtain some recompense, for the material and delay amused, from the makers. I am mot understand how this material was allowed to be shipped if it was properly inspected, nor om I understand how the makers managed to pack it without breaking scores of sheets. Had the Crow Agents sent out the material specified or even some material of aqual quality for I understand there are other makers, I am certain that matters would have been different.
While on the subject of this Indent I would point out two other instances in which the Crow Agente have passed the material for this extension though not in conformity to the Drawings.
(a). The down pipes were shown on the drawing which was
sent home as being in three six foot lengths all of which were dimensioned. On the drawing prepared
which by the Crow Agents was was practically traced off the one we sent the middle length of dow pipe has been marked, and check marked also, as a five foot
length though it scales six feet. This has caused
the downpipes to be one foot short, and we will
require to have extension pieces made.
(b).Bed plates were shown on all the cross girders
where they rested on the walls and these were omit-
-ted. These we have had to have made locally.
