Referring to my Despatch No. 308 of the 25th. September, 1917, I have the honour to request your authority to extend the Proclamation under Section 139 (2) of the Army Act for a further period of 3 months from the 3rd.

May, 1918.

As the transmission of mails to and from England now occupies a considerable time, I shall be glad if you will give me authority to renew the Proclamation for further periods of 3 months should necessity for such renewal continue to exist subject however to any instructions I may

receive from you by telegraph.
