GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

HONGKONG. 8th. January, 1918.

Sir,

I have the honour to transmit for the consideration of the War Office a copy of a petition received from Acting Lance Sergeant Shah Wali Khan asking that he may be granted a pension in respect of his services in the Hong- -kong Regiment,

2.

The case of Shah Wali Khan, who joined

the Hongkong Police on the 9th. January, 1908, appears to be the same in principle as that of Ismail Khan, which formed the subject of correspondence ending with Mr. Harcourt's

1915. Despatch No. 69 of the 17th. of March last, with the exception that the interval between the disbandment of the Hongkong Regiment and entry into the Police is considerably longer in the case of Shah Wali Khan than in that of Ismail Khan.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient,

humble servant,

Governor,&c..
