On communicating with the Colonial Office, we

were informed that :-

1)

2)

The Governor of Hongkong had reported that the Hongkong War Charities Committee had resolved to subscribe a sum not exceeding £10,000 a year for the duration of the war towards the upkeep of a hospital for officers of the Royal Flying Corps, which had been established at No. 37 Bryanston Square,

The principal ward had been named after Hongkong and that when the Hospital was extended the Extension would he named after the Colony.

This statement of the position left it an open question as

to when the Hospital would be extended.

Accordingly, on being elected to the Committee

of the Royal Flying Corps Hospital, our first endeavour was

to obtain acquiescence in a proposal to extend the Hospital

forthwith, and we proposed at a meeting on the 5th July the

following resolution :-

RESOLVED that steps shall be taken to extend the Royal Flying Corps Hospital by the addition of another house in Bryanston Square, the coat of upkeep to be undertaken by the War Charities Committee of Hongkong and such addition to be named the Royal Flying Corps Hospital, Hongkong Extension.
